Thanks everyone for the responses and all the older postings, too. Gel coat is out then. Now thinking about a paint job in white for the interior cockpit to contrast with the mahogany/popular (and a wee bit of walnut)...all wood saved and recycled from the mulcher. Just thoughts at this point, still busy stripping away.
