and I'm at the same place with mine. Thanks to the both of you for your comments, am still LEARNING like as just barely able to spell Fiberglass, much less to actually do it! I have mostly decided on MAS-Phoenix epoxy though here in San Diego I just heard about a company called AE Yale that is much cheaper/been around/has good stuff/etc (guess who's been hanging around the boatyards asking questions).

Here's one for everyone: gel-coating...no, no, no...it's not a statement, just a very novice-based question. Would it be appropriate for the interior of a yak? Would it take care of any possible pin-holes that could allow water to seep into the wood? Is it heavy? Am I abusing my rights with this site?
