Chris,

I have not been in a MC15 but had the chance to try the 16.5 with my wife in a flat water river. I found it to be a very stable ride even when I accidentally :-) leaned to one side. Consider building the longer boat so that you can "Share a Ride."

P.S. My wife (who thinks boats should never rock) said she enjoyed most of the paddle. Dinner at a nice restaraunt made up for my stability check.
