I wish I could post pix! I finally tested the new boat, after a year delay with moving and building a real shop. I like it! It seems quite fast with two paddlers, and is very stable which is one of the reasons I chose the design. I strip built the deck in fir, with a redwood accent and mahogany coamings. It came out pretty!! A little overweight but that matters not to me. I also added sealed bulkheads, and it will support two people while swamped. I noticed that the boat is very slow to respond to rudder (tho it steers pretty good without it). I have not had it in a good cross wind yet. I do not think it would do well at all with the sail rig unless the rudder were substantially bigger. Kudos to Nick on the rudder control design, it works well! A little mushy because of rope stretch but I can work with that or go to poly or some other low stretch line. I am planning on taking both my boats to the west coast deal coming up.
