Strength of 1/8" strips

Intention is that the 1/8 mm is to give the correct form to the deck, while cloth is to give the strength and epoxy is to keep things together.

My thinking is that the extra strength of 1/4" thick strips will not not neable me to use much thinner cloth, as I do insist that the cloth is strong enough. 3/4" thick strips will increase stiffness as the distance between cloth on inside and cloth on outside will be dlubled, but nevertheless the cloth will have to be strong enough to not break.

What I see as possible problems with 1/8" is that I will have to be extremely careful sanding not to sand through or too thin, and I am not that experienced...

Of course there are possibilities inbetween 1/8" and 1/4".
