E-mail George Roberts, or do a search through the dingy old archives of this BBS. George builds strip built whiteater boats that might suit you. He uses 1/8 inch thick strips for lighter weight and several layers of lightweight fiberglass cloth, with the occasional layer of a more exotic material, for strength. His boats weigh in at around 20 pounds. If you build one according to his plans I suspect yours would weigh a bit more.

In the past George has kindly posted the information you would need for making the forms for his design, and several times he has given information on the layup routine for the glass (and etc.) cloth that he typically uses.

Hmm. makes me think we should suggest to Nick that he create a special archive with some of the answers to frequently asked questions, arranged by subject: varnishing tips, epoxy/glass tips, strip making tips, etc.

Hope this helps.
