Woodstrip/epoxy Lifespan

I'm interested in experience on the lifespan of woodstrip/epoxy boats. Assuming that a boat gets adequate maintenance and regular revarnishing, and that it is stored away from the sun and out of the weather, is there still some epoxy degradation clock ticking away inside? Does the bond between wood and epoxy weaken over time? And, will wood gunwales last as long as the hull?

Any experience or information would be appreciated.

Thanks, -Dan
