I Agree that scrapers are great for reducing Sanding Cost and time. I found that cabinet scrapers work great especially when scraping the inside Hull and Deck. Cabinet scrapers come in many several shapes/sizes and the curved scrapers are most effective on the inside surfaces. You must sharpen cabinet scrapers though so learn how to create the "burr" on the edge. There are many woodworking books that describe how to do this. Also, to get better leverage I clamped a small wooden clamp on the end of a cabinet scraper and used it to my advantage. The carbide scrapers are straight edged and are most effective on the outside Hull/Deck.
