I just put hatches in two Osprey Standards. I got smooth clean cuts using a Bosch jig saw with a metal-cutting blade. Set the saw so that the blade moves with a vertical stroke -- no forward oscillation. As the directions suggest, I started with a row of five 1/16-inch drilled holes. Avoid pinching or breakout at the end of the cut by taping across the kerf with 2-inch masking tape -- cut a few inches, stop and tape, then cut a few inches more. Each hatch took me about ten minutes to cut.
