I looked into building an Adirondack boat prior to building a kayak. There is an excellent book The Adirondack Guide Boat by Kenith Durant. You can get it on Amazon.com for $28. It's got offsets and detailed drawings for a Grant boat with traditional ribs and lapstrake sides. It could easily be adapted to strip built. I personally find that the ribs add to the look of the boat even though they add unnecessary weight.
