Hi Gary, I Was lucky enough to buy an Outer Island that Jay had built. The boat has many outstanding characteristics. Its tracking ability is excellent, with few corrective strokes necessary. Outstanding secondary stability and seaworthyness in winds and rough seas. Good speed is generated. Beautiful to look at and my favorite characteristic is its rolling ability. I would say it, along with the Romany are the best rolling boats i have tried. On a negative side(if you consider this negative) is a small cockpit with not a great deal of leg room. This is par for the course in small volumn boats. Also, not a good boat for extended camping. All in all, a superb day boat with weekend camping possibilites.
