Again, I am talking about whitewater paddles which are subject to much more abuse (I imagine).

I use a rasp to form a convex V on the edge. They I lay a strip of dynel, epoxy over it and press onto the tip with clear plastic wrap. Then do the faces and epoxy the whole blade to seal.

You can get Dynel at JR Sweet (540)468-2222. Dynel is a non-glass cloth which (I'm told) has good compression strength?
