Wow...Very Nice! I had an idea when looking at your hatch bungie attachment arrangement-What about keeping the slot in the underdeck 'cleat' and where the knot rests against the 'cleat' face, drill a hole (around 1/2inch or more)into this face about half way through the cleat's thickness, and the thickness of the bungie through the remainder of the cleat's thickness.Then cut a slice of 1/2 inch dowel that fits into the hole you drilled out.Drill a hole thru this dowel for the bungie, put it on the bungie, and then tie your knot.This may keep the knot from falling out of the slot when the bungie is slack. Also, if you use a hole in your cleat, it might be tough to get in there to adjust the knot and this dowel stopper thing may allow you to easily pull the knot out to where you can see it for adjustments etc. Just an idea...
