I visiited your web page, I believe, and now I recall seeing your drawings. I laminated 1/4" oak, walnut, redwood, poplar and doug fir into blanks then cut the shape I wanted and laminated doug fir onto the shaft. I shaped the lengths before laminating onto the blanks. I varied that theme on some paddles that were really thin and glassed with 6lbs. cloth, filled the weave and varnished all. The asymetric shape you describe is interesting. How did it hold up? I fashioned canoe paddle handles by laminating same thickness and then laminating a block over the pices. I shaped with a jig saw and belt/disc sander. I don't use all the paddles. Some went to my folks in NW Montana with a warning not to use then on the Kootenai. Brian
