Amazing! Friedrich, what a beautiful boat! It truly looks like it was built using native materials and methods, but the use of modern adhesives and skin is a great innovation. Great write-up and analysis of joints and boat flexibility too. I have considered building a baidarka myself, but I have been hesitant to build by lashing and tying all the parts together. I thought about building the frame by epoxying the joints, but that would defeat the flexible advantage of a skin-on-frame boat, so I just went with a solid-material boat.

Thanks for posting it on your site, Nick.
