> Greg The 3m tape is very expensive $46.per roll(1" wide). It works well for the sheerline and I have used it for the keel, to proect from rocks when pulling the boat up on the beach. It also works on carbon paddle edges. It dosn't have very good adheasion in cold weather(below 25 degrees) so it may peel off. I am not sure why, since it was designed for aircraft leading wing edges. It is very clear and comes off with out a residue.Electrical tape works,it's cheap,replacable but leaves residue at the edges when you take it of to replace it, I am thinking of trying "Plasti Dip" ( plastic tool handle dip)painted over the sheerline . It seems to be very tough and can be peeled of when it gets beat up. Bruce
