I have had my G for almost a year, and had the same problem, which I solved by adding a rudder.I am very satisfied with its handling now.Call me a poor paddler or whatever,I find in some conditions I need a rudder,so I'll live with the opprobrium.I made a fin from cedar(3 layers, glassed)extending from the stern, and used a Perception rudder bolted to the fin.
