You are far more eloquent than I am it must be all the strip building. I agree with the fatigue, and with the fact that wood is one of the best if not THE best. I prefer to keep glass and epoxy to a minimum if for no other reason than it costs a fortune here.

I am reluctant to continue this thread too long as it seems to move more and more into the realms of science and away from Kayaks etc.

All I can add that I sleep at night safe in the knowledge that even if a Kayak Design of mine is built a little shoddy it will not fail the user in the time of need.
