The ACA is the American Canoe Association. The group is concerned with paddle sports in every form (kayak, canoe, and rafting).

The ACA certifies instructors for kayaking and canoeing. The ACA certification is directed at certifying both the instructor's paddling skills and teaching methods. Certification is a 2-5 day process. Instructors must take an update course every 2 years and be re-certified every 4 years. There are a range of courses the ACA certifies instructors to teach.

ACA Instructors in Connecticut include: Kayak Adventure LLC in Norwalk at www.kayak-adventure.net
