Hey, if you ever get a chance to go for a hot air balloon ride, DO IT! It's a great natural high (tongue in cheek) and a fantastic way to scout out new paddling opportunities. I tried to offer more money to the guy to take me back up on another day but to go up to 10 000 feet or more instead of the 2500 feet we ceilinged at. He said he didn't go up that high any more but I could tell he was thinking about it. And I did tell my mom about her gnomish tendencies: she got a good chuckle out of that.
