LK Sammamish to Sound in Seattle?

Has anyone made the trip from Lk Sammamish up the Sammamish river to Lk Washington and through the Chittenden Locks to Puget Sound? If you have I'd love to hear about it, thinking about going soon and wondering how long it took, where to put in, where to put out, etc, etc. Thanks.
