In the winter in Michigan we have to resort to desperate measures, sometimes, We had a big melt the weekend before last, and the streams were running out of their banks -- too swift and full of strainers and cold to even consider. However, one place a local stream backed up and flooded a softball field to the depth of maybe a foot. I was all set to head out there before the TV Queen intercepted me with a list of honeydews.
