Last winter I found they work very well. Too well sometimes. When paddling in the wind they were comfortable, when in no wind they were too warm. Not that I'm complaining... They just didn't work well for Greenland style paddling.

I'd still use them though if not for the accident between the cat and a half-gallon bottle of epoxy hardner...
