thanks again Woody,, I wonder what Mardi's response would be were she to try this again but in deeper water, rolling over while paddling , no gloves or hat, then attempt a self-rescue. Not to be mean , just trying to point out the difference between practicing a rescue and extrapolating ones capabilities from disparate experiences. I got into the water last week in a similar fashion, I was burning up from all my layers, still haven't jumped into coldwater rescues practice since last march when the water was 47. "Nah, I don't feel like it, I'll roll if I'm really in trouble" yeah right. know enough to be dangerous to myself...and anyone that comes along.
