The way they restored it was really neat.
They wanted to preserve as much of the ship as possible. Since it was in such terible shape, a traditional rebuild would ave meant removing and disgarding 90% of the original wood.
Basically the took off the old planking and made a 3 layer cold-moulded hull the same thinkness.
It is now a stress-skin hull almost completely taking the load off the old frame timbers which remain.
I was there before the rebuild, they let us o all the way down the the bilge, talk about a leaker!
I'll have to go back and see her again.
