well Ian, if I had a few less bowls of cereal at night I might be seeing something!
My friend was saying that when her crew was in the groove everything disappeared and there was only the shooshhing sound under the hull. Funny after 9 years of paddling I haven't felt like finding that high effort groove like I did in cycling.
What's that japanese term for center of Ki? hara? any way It's been kind of weird to notice that my effort has been shifting lower in the torso. Just about to either side of the lower abdominals.
Funny, I made sure not to get any books about kayaking when I started. I don't think a book can get into defining the feedback loops that might be particular to you. Paddling with people of greater skill is still the best way to learn and improve.
I took Aikido erratically, but I tell you when I had to sand my first kayak with a sanding block I sure checked my stance first!
Right now going to an iyengar yoga class once a week. Yoga instructors say the oddest things to get one to not use muscles or to use other muscles. Useful stuff, can't put my foot over my head as I could 20 years ago, but still putting foot in mouth, just shows you what are real life skills are? had some unusually warm weather this weekend, all the leaves have dropped--clump!--
