Ive been an amateur astronomer for about 25 years - living in the New York metro/ Connecticut area. I had NEVER EVER seen the lights till one night about 6 years ago, 3:30 in the morning in Newtown CT. They were like green curtains with the intensity among the "folds" actually flucuating in a musical kind of way. I was stunned mouth agape, wide eyed. It was first a dull glow. i thought i ws seeing the elusive zodiacal light. It kept brightening tho, until it was SO bright , the forground clouds were DARK!!!!!! Blew me away - completely. What followed was the sheer frustration of having no one to tell till many many hours later!
