I was paddling once in a tidal estuary, kind of solitary in a shiny sleak glass boat. Met this guy paddling a home made collection of plywood pieces , we talked about local fossils and time. He had this great story about helping to lift out a huge whale fossil skeleton while in the national guard. His experience put the whole toy boat fetish into perspective. Thanks for your story, I've only seen hints of the lights from the mountains in Ca.
