Back in my SCUBA diving days I was in a small Zodiac boat, on Monterey Bay, California. We were motoring out from the Monterey Harbor to Lover's Cove. This is basically across the waterfront area of Canary Row. Anyway, about half way to the cove, I look back and saw a very large, gray, mountain slowly rolling through the water about 50 feet behind us. It was at the same time one of the most frightening and inspiring moments of my life. I live in Southern California now. I guess I will have to pack up my kayaks and visit Monterey soon.
