From Anchorage: I can get you to 1. tidewater glaciers for a $30-$40 train ride and some paddling; 2. to sea caves, arches, bird rookeries, sea lion haulouts, World War II pill boxes and gun sites, a glacier fronting into a fresh water lake reachable by kayak for the gasoline costs for a 135 mile drive and then paddle: 3. to a week 7-10 day trip through glacier bays, lots of convoluted beautiful coast line, islands and mountains, good whale areas with sitings on over half my trips for the above #3 drive and a $65 ferry ticket; 4. to big bays with multiple tidewater and hanging glaciers, sea lions, mountain goats, usually black bear, and almost every trip has whale sitings either while paddling or on the charter boat out. Charters here run about $260 for a drop off and pick up, stay out as long as you like(about 50 nautical mile from Seward Alaska); 5. a huge number of trips in Prince William Sound...week long across the sound paddle with everything mentions above for a 300 mile car shuttle or $65 ferry ticket, out and back paddles with most of the above for a $40 train ride. Lots of trips to paddle out to or to charter out from $50-$150 boat fees. I'd love to have 3-4 experienced paddlers come up some summer for an experience of a life time. I usually paddle in Baja in fall and/or spring and often look for a partner or two.
