You know, I've been seriously contemplating visiting the west coast specifically for the spotting of whales. If not by Kayak ,certainly with my Scope. Whale watching on the east coast, atleast from the vantage point of a kayak I think is probably pretty impractical given the mobility of the pods, as one person mentioned quite well. Whale watching exhibitions Ive been on, on the east coast [you know, the 6 hour deal] are always with a big boat that can hall -ss. West coast tho, I think Im going to give that some serious consideration. Making a spotting on an Orca pod would be dynamite.

Any idea on costs? Im in connecticut.
