Dang, I'm envious! Average guy is still pretty broad. I think my upper limit is about 17-18 miles depending on conditions. Some of the local club gurus recently did a 26 miler which seemed near their limit. They also had several places to get out and stretch along the way.

On thing you might try is talking to some of the local fish or shrimp boat captains. Might find someone willing to give you a lift out and toss you overboard for $20-$30 bucks or so.
