It's a Garmin GPS III+. Seems to keep water out of everything except the battery compartment 8^). I often have to open up the battery compartment when I get home and let it dry if I roll. Seems to keep splashes out ok.

No noise, and batteries last about 20 hours I think. But I never use the internal batteries while on the water. Instead I use the 12V cigarette adaptor and power it off the kayak's battery.
