Quite Naturally a thread on Sea Wildlife began in the BUILDING section. Seals and whales were mentioned as sited, oh... and my Carp [ok so it was a lake]. I've got a question that Ive thought about a bit. In the spring, with the big kayak Im building this winter [got my router yesterday] I intend to do a whole lot of sea kayaking. Block Island, Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket and the Cape etc. My question tho is about Sharks. Surfers have been the "bait" of many an offshore bite. It is said that the profile, or silohette of the surf board resembles a seal or something. What seals have to do with nantucket i dont know, but that was one explanation. My question is this...
Has anyone even seen a Shark Fin while out kayaking? Anyone even heard of an attack on a kayaker by a shark? If not do you suppose the long silohette is just too intimidating to provoke a shark bite?
Best,
Pete
