: Excellent!
: You be THE MAN! The first big solo trip is like, well, you know! Words fail
: to put it in proper perspective, but time certainly does.: To be real honest, Rikki and I talked about this trip quite a bit. On one
: side she needed time away from the grind she's in, and on the other hand,
: I saw what a solo trip would be about for you. That you needed anyone
: along in any disaster is not true, and I'll say it again, who calmly
: picked their route down a waterfall, and then spent the time perched on a
: rock ledge picking the wreckage out of the water? In terms of style points
: that rates several thousand. I still think that's the coolest thing I've
: heard for quite some time now.: You need to paddle the rest on your own. It's a small club that does these
: things alone as you know.Mike, I think you would really enjoy the trip from the BigHorn Dam to Drayton Valley. It's a wonderful mixture of paddling in the Canadian Rockies, doing a little bit of fun white water and some great flat water river paddling without any seriously worrisome rocks. The fishing I'm sure wouldn't be what you're used to but you could take a day off to climb and hike. It would be a great week run with great camping locales along the way (as in loads of beautiful do-it-yourselfers). I'm leaving tomorrow to do the prairie half of the trip. I've been stuck here in town while I get my prescription shades repaired ( prescription adjustment). I can't do the river paddle without the shades because the sun is too bright here. I'm getting them with polarized lenses; the morning glare off the water on the last day of the mountain paddle stretch of this trip kept me blinded for three hours. Polarized lenses should correct that problem.
