The water filtration worked fantasticly, Mike. The silt inteh river plugged the Sweetwater filter within one gallon of water though. I gave the filter a very light brush and rinse and she was working fine again. I had a close call Tuesday evening, though when I thought I had left the purifier at my last campsite along with my Storm lighter. I searched all of my bags at least three times looking for he durned thing all the while thinking how could I have been so careless to have lost my only source of clean water. I wasn't worried about he storm coz I had a trusty BIC and my magnesium sparker but the purifier had me thinking worriedly. I decided I could take water from streams pouring into the river from the sides coz they were moving water and I could use water pills to purify. Wednesday I made the discovery that my Sweetwater was shoved way up by my feet in the cockpit. I peeked in there out of curiousity and ended up whacking the side of my head for changing my wilderness routine. In the wilderness it's a good idea to establish regular routines and put equipment back in the same place each day so it is easily found or easily discovered to be missing. By teh way, I was careful not to scrape away the inside surface of the filter in order to increase its lifespan.
