The antibiotics took effect last night and she is doing very well today. She is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday so I can do the trip with no worries. She got a hug and an "I love you" this afternoon after a pleasant father/daughter luncheon at the hospital. Take care of that back, Ken, you need it to keep the paddle moving. I bought the Nalgene bottle (1 l) and will wrap it tomorrow with closed cell foam to insulate. I prefer the enamel cup for the very reason that it cools a boiling hot drink quickly.
If your seat is uncomfortable perhaps you might try having a look at the one Donnie sells at Waters Dancing. You have to build it and glass it but you can fit it to your yak and foam it to your comfort. I have had great success with it. It's formed to fit any butt with proper foam installation. The link is posted below. Look in the section titled "Choosing Your Waters Dancing Kit". I'm glad to hear the new yak is performing surprisingly well, that's gotta make it a sweet watercraft.
