Hey, it's good ya got out to relieve some of that need to paddle. Hope you can do that every weekend, Myrl. There is a lot of space in the Lightning 17, Myrl. The sweet thing, though, is that I bought very small, light equipment. I bought it over time so I didn't have to realize the true expense (using psychology on myself there). Even better is the fact that with all this stuff my yak is still sitting relatively high in the water. Last year I was sitting lower but this year I did a better job of planning (more time, advice and experience) and have room to spare.
Unfortunately, my eldest daughter is very ill so I may have to delay the trip. I talked with my wife and she thinks everything will be ok but I have given myself until tomorrow to cancel the hotel reservation if I don't think I will be ok with leaving. My fingers are crossed. Only 3 days to go!
