Thanks for the advice! As a matter of fact, some friends were trying to convince me to do the bicycle around Manhattan (Sept. 20 something?). Still haven't committed, but would most certainly rather be traveling home to my family in the NW. Oh well. Still interested in a tour around Manhattan in a kayak, though. Not 'around' as in circumnavigate, but 'around' as in a random section. Who knows what one would turn up - sunken barges, priceless bits of refuse, Jimmie Hoffa? But I'm sounding like an arrogant Seattilite, which I'm not. I truly think the Manhattan shoreline would offer some unique and fascinating views/perspectives.

If anyone knows how to contact M.A.S.K., I'd appreciate hearing back. Couldn't find them on an internet search. My next step will be to call some rental places and ask there. Once again, if someone wants to do an afternoon paddle and can throw an extra boat on their car for me, I could reciprocate by providing boats and gear here in the NW sometime. As well as pizza and beer after our dip in the harbour.
