Manhattan Paddling - need help

Greetings - Through some twist of fate I find myself transplanted from Seattle to the Big Apple for a few months and would like to investigate the possiblity of an evening paddle around part of Manhattan. Any suggestions? If there are any individuals out there who would let me tag along on a trip, it would be most appreciated. Unfortunately, while in Manhattan all I have is an apartment - no boat, gear, car, etc. However, I would be able to reciprocate if a potential host ever got the bug to travel to Seattle/NW - I can supply boats/gear, charts and suggestions for no cost.

For what it is worth, I've done quite a bit of paddling - the Inside Passage, the Yukon River, plus numerous week and weekend trips.

Let me know if anyone is interested in a sort of trade.
