Hi Andy,
I'm taking my CLC 17 there this weekend! Woo hoo! Aside from being a much-needed vacation, it will be my first trip there -- look for a full trip report when I get back. Also check out Randel Washburne's "Kayaking the Puget Sound, San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands" and Sea Kayaker's Deep Trouble by Broze and Gronseth, as most of the stories from that book are from the San Juans. Anyhew, I'll be out there paddling for 4 days/3 nights; 2 weeks would be awesome!!
I hear all the eastbound ferry rides are free (you just pay stowage on the kayak) so you could do a lot of trips paddling out from the mainland to Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor, and then take the ferry back to Seattle.
