Looking for multiday trips in San Juans/Gulf Isles

My wife and I are looking for interesting multiday routes in the San Juan Islands and/or Gulf Islands. We are experienced ocean paddlers, however we have never paddled in this region. Our criteria include great scenery, good camping, minimal to moderate crowds and interesting (but not exceptionally dangerous) paddling conditions. We plan to bring our own boats and gear, and spend the first 2 weeks of Sept. on the trip. Shorter trips, ferry connected trips or any other ideas are welcome. I'm also interested in any tours or areas to avoid based on personal experiences. Thanks, and visit my site to see my CLC 17!
