I seriously thought of getting a down bag to save space for kayak packing, but saw how uncomfortable a friend got when her tent leaked and the down bag got wet. I decided on a high end synthetic and crammed the thing into a compression sack before putting it into a dry bag. Still takes up a bit more room than a down bag, but I feel I have the edge now if anything happens to the tent (or to my boat!).
