Some of the plans have full size drawings that you just tape together and transfer to the plywood. Mine from Shearwater Boats did and it made drawing out the panels a snap.

Grant summed the process up very nicely...building a kayak is just a series of simple steps that results in a wonderful creation as each step is finished.
After each step that I thought might be a challenge, I've kind of sat back afterwards and thought to myself "Gee that wasn't very difficult at all". Very few tools are required and the results are, as you already know, wonderful.
