Why not build from plans rather than from a kit?
You've already built one kayak so you know what is involved. Why pay someone a lot of money to cut the pieces for you when that is such a small part of the overall process.
Doing it that way you could get started right away and buy materials as you need them rather that having a large cash outlay up front. You can get most of the materials locally and that will save you in shipping costs.
The folks on the building board are great for lending their ideas and help during the building process. I built mine from plans, it was my first boat, and certainly not my last. All in all it has been a great experience.Just a thought.

: broken yak. A rebuild shouldn't cost as much as a new one. I have 10
: pieces of the broken yak to work with and I figure if I line the hull with
: Kelvar I can pick up the added strength I will need to make her more
: dependable than she was before. I'll have to paint most of the mahogany
: exterior to hide her scars. Fortunately the stern is relatively undamaged
: so I will be able to let a fair amount of the original wood grain show.
: The cockpit section is basically gone so I will have to graft on new
: pieces there. The kayak was originally built using butt joints so putting
: in new pieces should be nothing new. The only challenge to this I see is
: to make sure her lines are good. The guy I bought the kayak kit from
