However, on his web page he says that the strokes course is a prerequisite for the training trips (as well as the one day tidal rapids course at Deception pass, and the kayak surfing courses out on the Coast). You may be able to get him to waive the prerequisite, but my guess is that he would want you to actually show him the skills. Even with experience, I don't think that you would be bored in the strokes class. The information that he covers goes well beyond a "typical" intro course and I would surmise goes beyond most intermediate courses as well. He offers a guarantee that if you do not think the course was worth it, then he will refund your money. I doubt that he has returned much money, and many of his testimonials are from experienced kayakers who took his course. Because the class size is limited to 5 students, there is plenty of opportunity for individualized instruction.
