: The problem I ran into was when parking at the little town boat launches
: (abt the only and best access, there's a couple) you want to check for the
: high tide line. Found parking lot completely floods at high, had to have
: been under 1.5-2 ft of water.
There are 3 good access points that I know of along the road that runs from the Wellfleet pier to the Parking lot by Great Island:1) Mayo Beach / town pier - If you can get parking at Mayo beach (just past the pier), it's relatively easy to haul your boat across the beach to the water. At low tide, you might have to drag it over a bit of muck to get back to the beach. No parking sticker required. If the beach parking lot is full, you can park at the pier - easy access to the water next to the food stand.
2) Power's landing (about 1 mile up the road) - small parking lot with easy beach/water access. During the season, you need a wellfleet parking sticker (if you don't have one, you'll get ticketed at a minimum). Off season may not require stickers.
3) Boat launch (as described above) - almost all the way to the Great Island parking lot (just after a bridge over ?Herring creek? No parking sticker required - but you do have tide concerns - swamping at high tide, as well as very shallow water in the immediate vicinity at low tide.
