It is a scientific and psychological conundrum as to how global warming is connected to human activities. I read an article a while back showing through archeological digs the cycles of growth and erosion of forests in parts of greece. The authors main thrust being that over a millenia regions that had forests is now hard rock and scrub because of the consequence of cycles human habitation.
When a recent 7yr drought was going through California (early '80's ?) my brother was telling me about about when the forest line was a hundred feet lower in Lake Tahoe, a drought of much longer period than when white folks and v-8s populated california.Human lives are so short to be able to prevent deleterious consequences on a global scale, LA may have cleaner air compared to 20yrs ago but being at the top of the consumption pyramid I wonder if we're like the first ones to the technology trough with the rest of the world unfettered by Nox/mile restrictions.
Who was that writer, "oh we'll all go together when we go, just one big incandescent glow.."?
