I own a Zip stove, and for a couple of weeks, some years ago, tried it out. I found it worked quite well although you need lots of batteries if you want to cook for a long time. I also found that you need to keep a little bag of dry fuel, wood chips, charcoal bits from a campfire, etc., handy in case of rainy weather. You need to keep feeding the stove too, so it is great for people who like to play a bit with fire! It makes a good backup but I still prefer my Peak stove for getting a meal on quickly and without too much fuss. They take up so little room, and weigh so little that I would recommend taking a Zip as a spare in case of breakdown of your regular stove. I don't know what the price is now, but I didn't pay very much for mine a few years ago.
