Yep. Finished varnishing yesterday and today was spent putting the rigging back on and finishing up the rudder installation. She's ready to go out next weekend if the weather permits.

I should put 2 coats of varnish on, but the wife can't stand the varnish in the house. I've done a good job of keeping the odor in the basement, but she complained all weekend because she needed to do laundry. I'll put the second coat on this spring when I can do it on outside (and see the places I missed!).

I'm hoping to go someplace new this weekend, but another novice paddler also wants to go and I'm leaving it up to her on where we go.

The last thing I need to do is take a few "finished" pictures. I also want to take a few closeups of the rudder mount, which I think is probably unique and worked out pretty well.

This weekend will be spent reclaiming the basement. My saw horses will relocate outside and my kayak will sit on them under my canoe storage area. The wife is all excited about getting the basement back. sheesh. Think I should ask her about me building another one?
